My name is Nancy McManus, I’m 32 and I’d like to think of myself as the cool dog mum. I come from the small seaside town of Swanage but moved Broadstone over 7 years ago. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, ranging from big to small I am a little obsessed! I have had the luxury and years of experience having been brought up with many breeds such as; English Bull Terriers, French Bulldogs, Dachshunds, Bulldogs, Labradors, Yorkshire Terriers, Pugs, Dalmatians, Bullmastiffs and much, much more! I recognise the different personalities each dog has and the fact they each need to be treated 100% individually because no dog is the same to the next.

I currently have a handsome rescue called Bert who we adopted over a year ago from a wonderful charity called “Hungry Hearts”. We get many comments on Bert and his breed, we think Bert is a Border Jack (Border Collie cross with a Jack Russell) but we all know he’s a Heinz 57! And I wouldn’t change him for the world my darling boy.

After leaving my trade of 8 years in water sports I was determined to set up my own business and not work for someone else ever again. I’ve always loved the idea of running my own business and be my own boss so now more than ever was the right time to take that dream, turn it into an idea and make it a reality! My first goal was to decide on a business I was going to be passionate about, something I would want to give 110% to each and every day, and this idea came to me when we first got Bert. We were contemplating whether or not we should hire a dog walker to take care of him 5 days a week whilst I work an office job.. whilst hovering over the idea I made myself a cup of tea and thought, why don’t I pay myself to walk him and other dogs! And this is just the beginning to Nancy McManus Dog Walking & Boarding …

It’s always been the most important thing to my family & I when it comes to our dogs that they are in safe hands when they can’t be with us. So, I will do everything I can to ensure whilst your dog is under my care they will be treated like a part of my crazy family.
